This Sunday I will go for a Ride, in coordination with our good friend Janet from Houston, and groups all around the country. She and her husband Ronnie(RIP) are involved with this worthy cause, and I have decided to help out.
I created a donation page:
https://team.curethekids.org/fundraiser/4935534
If you'd like to donate, Thank You!

Thank you, Steve! That's one of the main reasons I'm doing it, too.
I may have to move my portion of the ride until Friday (or Monday), due to the arrival in Maine of Hurricane Lee... |

I made a donation using Rick's link. Glad to make a small donation in memory of our friend Ronnie and to support a cause that was very dear to him.
Please tell Janet we were thinking about her and Ronnie on our Fall ride in the Adirondacks!
cheers!

My wife and I will be attending the Fort Worth RFKs and have a donation page as well. Ronnie & Janet got us started several years ago. I always think of Ronnie when we attend. |

Those of you who pay attention to the weather know that yesterday (Saturday) in Central Maine was less than optimal for riding. Hurricane Lee (even downgraded to a Tropical Storm) brought 50+mph winds and 2-3 inches of rain. Our power is still out here at the house (30 hours later...). That said, today is clear blue sky, mid 70's and calm winds. A perfect day for the Maine Version of the PBT Ride. I did just over 100 miles on the Beast, starting at Schoodic Lake:
First stop was in Guilford at Low's Covered Bridge (rebuilt about 30 years ago), over the Piscataquis River:
Next stop was in Monson at Lake Hebron:
I continued to Greenville and took a pic at Moosehead Lake:
And on the way back my last stop was at Spectacle Ponds:
Huge Thank You to those who donated to this worthy cause, as Todd said, a legacy from Ronnie that is worth continuing! I will try to get more organized earlier next year, and have more than just me riding. |
