Hello guys,
summer has come to an end here in germany and it`s time to resume the last season.
My bike has made not as much problems as I´ve feared for. Everything has gone all right. No accidents this year.
I´ve had more luck than all the bikers that have lost there lives on the streets around my hometown this year.
I hope, that you all have someone who cares for you, when you are running your bikes.
Best regards from germany,
Ralf |

Im glad that you have had no problems while riding this year. All of us have to remember to be careful when we go out everyday...the people out there are nuts.
Keep your bike warm during the winter time and when the sun reappears, "ride it like you stole it"
tschuuus! |

Summer is finished here as well and the cold weather and rains have replaced the great riding days. It is pouring cats and dog's even as I write this but last night 2 F's in Ottawa put another 55 kilometers on the odometer between the cloud burts. It was great and yet sad at the same time, just knowing that this would soon be over.
Our F's freek'n love the cool weather! Now if only the rain would go away... |

Sorry for my pathetic words, but the wheather and the end of the biking-season makes a man sad!

Hey Ralf, maybe you should visit the nachbarn
It's very sunny here today and the temperature isn't that bad either!!
It will probably only last for a few days before the real bad weather sets in, sometimes that takes untill march/april |

Geez, summer came to an end a month ago tomorrow and old man winter is sneaking around the corner now but, as long as it does not rain I will continue to ride year round.
You guys that complain about the winter and storing your bikes have a simple choice you can make. It is so easy to move to a warmer location. I picked up shop and moved to Kalifornicate at the drop of a hat because I was not gonna see snow or freeze balls anymore.
Cold weather is for penguins, seals and polar bears.
Give me a year round riding season or give me death |

My neighborhood is pretty nice, a little pricey but quiet for the most part living within the city of Los Angeles.
We have canyons and a the biggest ocean anywhere. The sun is merciless in the summer time but merciful in Winter. I love it here and wish it was like this for everyone everywhere. |

It's hard for me to get a job over there Ray, my line of work is pretty much tied to a country's legal system.

Well...The electric vest is out, ColdWave snow pants and gloves, Klim Balaclava, Moose XCR Jacket, and the MSR Hand Shields are installed on the bike......Bring it on Winter!
I still get a kick out of the "motorists" faces when they see me riding down the highway in 18 degree weather. |

Dude, you've got balls. Although they are shrunk up from the cold. I am leaving the FT 500 thumper ready but everything else is taking a long winters nap. |

My bike may be put away and I may be sad about it but winter offers some decent fun too.
Ralf, do you participate in any type of Winter Sports?
Nothing like clipping along at 40 mph with just a pair of sticks strpped to your feet and dropping 4000 feet in elevation over 10 minutes. There is also a thrill to sledding headlong and I do mean head first down a twisting trail on a sled that is five miles long. Yes I'd like to be able to ride BB year round but I'd miss winter sports too.
And then there is this:
No that is not me....... hahaha
This is more my style:

hey, Ralf check on Chris LeDoux, you"ll get the idea
by the way, the northtrade winds are start blowing here, taking the rain away, we may still get a few days of rain as we are in some kind of transition, and our dry season days are just ahead, little chilly at night, but i think this will be a good riding season, not sure if my wife wants to ride anymore,
but if someone wants to come and check on some of the best weathers in the world is very welcome. |

Man Tony, that would be a treat for sure. I think getting to ride a bike somewhere else other than the limited roads in Alaska will have to be in my plans soon. I am thinking heavily about shipping my bike or a new bike to the Pacific Northwest and then riding back to Alaska from there.
Don't know about making it to CR though. I have heard that you have got some great 4-wheeling there too. ATV's I mean.

I just went for a ride today and nearly froze my ass off!
I had my ski longjohns, 2 pairs of wools socks, short AND long sleeve shirts, turtleneck, hooded sweatshirt, ski mask, scarf, leather jacket with liner and leather gauntlet gloves... and still was freaking freezing! I guess a 70 MPH windchill factor will make it feel cold. Ambient temperature was 46F. What made it feel colder was the wind from the Atlantic Ocean.
Met GTO's father on his '79 750F at Captree State park. I don't see too many rides for the year left. It will only get colder! |

Went out yesterday afternoon to the mall to shop for some clothes, I took the "F", wore my helmet, sweatshirt, heavy socks, insulated gloves and really heavy Levi's all for 46-deg temps (no sun it was overcast)........anyway, a couple of guys on Harleys passed me up, they were wearing no helmet, no gloves had their leather jackets open, they had to be freezing! The only thing I could think of is that there is a law that says if you ride a Harley you can only dress to that level or Harleys have a really good driver heating system! |

My guess? Bar hopping. How far away from the nearest bar were they? And how far until the next? |

I don't know how they ride in the winter with no helmets. I see it all the time down here. I'm bundled up and still freezing and a guy on a Harley goes by with a tee shirt, vest and no helmet. |

Pussy!
In the AM its been down to -4C , the rides home is nice and warm at +10C. (25'F to 50'F)
50 mile round trip, with just my riding gear, a sweater and a neck tube....
I guess the fairing helps, and having a small ass that doesnt stick out into the wind probably doesnt hurt.... |

I know what you mean... there are some that read too much into emails. Ray can tell you of a thread in the VJMG forum that is, very colorful! |

Well, I'm extending my riding season. My kid gave me electric heated socks and gloves. I just bought a heated vest. So now I ride till snow actually stays on the ground. On Long Island, mid-January? I certainly hope that global warming comes this winter!!! |
