So whilst removing the camshaft holders one of the bolts broke with the thread deep in the hole. I thought bolts might break over torquing them but not loosening them. So I had some HSS drill bits lying around and I wanted to try and drill through the center and hammer in lightly with an 'easy out' screw extractor but the drill bit didn't make a dent. So off to the hardware shop to buy a 3/32 cobalt drill bit and it worked great, metal filings straight away. The easy out went in and the broken bolt thread came out. It all worked out but I hate broken bolt heads😊

Those bolts snap when you try to undo them if they were overtightened previously. Always use a torque wrench and or better bolts.

Get the higher strength bolts from Genesound on this forum.

It might help if you hit the bolts on the head with a small hammer (maybe use drift) before trying to break them loose.
