How does one remove the light and socket from the rear of the speedometer and/or tachometer without destroying them. |

WD 40 worked with a little technique. Spray WD40 while applying slight lift to the edge of the rubber. Some WD wo accumulate around the rubber, DON"T try to pry light socket out at this point. Work a small slat screwdriver around the rubber allowing Wd to sink into the meter socket. Do That several times the take TWO screwdrivers and gently work the rubber bulb holder out of the meter.

Coat the rubber with a light layer of silicone grease before you re-install them into the instruments. Should prevent future problems removing them. |

My fingers hurt for a month after I pulled mine out - very frustrating job. I used lots of silicone on them when they went back in but hopefully I'll never have to pull them again. |

Thinking it through probably most anything will work. Even Dove dish soap? |
