I finally finished up the installation of the newly refurbished carbs, gave the CB1100F a good electric tuneup (plugs and wires) and got the old beast running! After some nasty chuffs, pops, rattles and a couple of metal-on-metal sudden stops that scared me, it is running nice. I took it out for a quick ride to the nearest gas station and put in some fresh gas. Then out on a freeway for some good exercise.

It runs great. I think I might transfer my tank bag to it and take it for a long ride tomorrow.

I'll post pictures later but there is no point, as most of you have seen it all already. The red variety. It is 100% stock, and all original, including exhaust, mirrors, and bars. The only thing not original is the seat cover but it is the OEM replacement. It is in what I call 10 Foot Condition, meaning any closer than 10 feet and the cracks in the plastic, the scuff marks and the goobered-on black Rustoleum on the engine can be seen.

Surprisingly it rides rather nice, albeit a tad.....well....."aggressive." My usual ride is a Triumph T120 Bonneville with clutch assist, electronic fuel injection, and quite a bit lighter. It will take some time.

It feels good to be amomg the living.

Congratulations on the hard work and perseverance. Always good news to see another 1100f restored to running order.
