Heres a pic of SwiftNick (fellow Detroit area Fer and site member) with the of the 1100F I acquired this winter and his mercury manometer balancing the carbs yesterday. The thing needed a decent amount of work but good progress is being made, with a big assist of guidance, extra hands, and special tools from Nick.

Engine looked very clean when we dropped the pan - bikes 17k odo shown miles appears real based on engine condition - Nick has tensioned the cam chains, adjusted the valves, I have rebuilt the carbs, replaced the carb to engine rubbers, changed oil, filter, and plugs, clutch rubbers, and post balance and colortune, she sounds real good...

Nick is the very first member I met on this forum (other than the guy here in London that restored my bike) We met at the Midwest Ride of 2009.
Not only is he very knowledgeable with these bikes, he's also a great friend.

Hope we can get together for a ride this summer boys!

Cheers!
Chris

Thanks guys, I've met so many great people through this site where we all share a common love of bikes especially F's. Aaron has a gotten himself a really good F there. The pan was the cleanest I have seen when we dropped it. Cam chains aren't stretched and the front adjuster not stripped out. With the new clutch rubbers and balance etc she idles really smooth and quiet. Looking forward to going for some rides soon. I've had that manometer for over 35 years and yes it has an oz of two mercury in it! Cant buy those any more.
