Today I pulled the engine out of my '79 750f, with my brand new harbor freight motorcycle lift.
Thank for all the help I got just from being on the forum and reading what others had done before me.
Tomorrow the engine comes out of the '80, and the '79 motor goes in. Biggest problem I ran into was getting the engine off the lift.
Which I have not done yet. decided I had done enough for today.
Thank to all of you!!!!!!

A come along works great if you have a somewhat strong beam. Wrap a strap around the base of the cylinders and racket it up. |

Mike. I use a hoyer lift now as lifting complete engines is now beyond my abilities. Look at used medical sales, craigs list, e-bay and goodwill type stores. Also use a roll around IV stand for my remote gas bottle. m |

I have done amazing things with a simple cheap Harbour Fright engine hoist. Including lifting a 600 lb back up generator out of my trailer and placed it on its pad and 2000 lb of car lift again off my trailer and into its floor pockets. It folds up pretty compactly as well when not in use. |

To move your engine.... I strap a two by four across the back of the cylinders (left to right). The 2x4 is about 4 ft long so it sticks out either side. You lift one side and a friend lifts the other. Makes it a cheap easy lift. |

The '79 engine is in the frame. she is all bolted up. I was just about to hang the exhaust,
When I found out that the leftover gaskets from my old CBX build will not work. I will do intake and carbs now.
I am sinking fast, and the local brewery is calling my name.
Tomorrow I am off to the dealer for 4 "18291-mm5-860" I hope they have them.

Well I finished up the engine swap today. '79 engine runs like that old raped ape from my younger motor head days.
Now to just set up the blasting cabinet and start soda blasting the aluminum oxide corrosion off the covers.
And do the fork seals. then we are back in the wind after 11 long years!!!!!
