I may have started a thread on this before but a search didn't find it.....
(1) So who out there has the F bike they purchased new? .... or .....
(2) Who out there got back their original bike after tracking it down or maintaining contact or friendship with the next owner? (Stories please!)
I have my original blue US spec 1100. I was looking to buy a liter class bike after racing motocross for several years and went to a WERA race at Nelson Ledges Ohio (a friend was racing a then new VF750F.) I was looking at the CB1100F and a Suzuki GS1100E and I spoke with the owner of of a Honda dealership (U.P. Michigan?) and told him I was looking at a leftover 1100F in Buffalo and he wanted to get to re-sell it (he said he had customers looking for them after he sold out.) I drove back after the weekend and bought it as a left over and the dealer discounted it $400.00!
Others are out there....
Wamkap1100 (Phil) has his original US red one. (1100)
CND1100F (Chris) has his original Canadian blue one. (1100)
Wulph (Gabe) has his original Canadian red one. (1100) |

I still have my silver 81 CB900F, purchased in August 1981. Added Sport Control Kit shortly thereafter, along with a Hondaline Sport Fairing. 42,000 miles. Unfortunately it has been sitting for a while. |

Yeah. I had mine parked for about 15 years but it’s all history now because I ride one of them every weekend. My red 1100 still runs great and my wife and I are the only ones to ride it.
Lot’s of fun and great memories and even now. I have meant great people and made great friends from this site and the NE rides have never been boring |

I’ve still got my 82 CB900F, I’ve owned from new and road raced in 82.
It got put aside several times with newer bikes, but always held on to it.
Vintage raced it in 1992 and 1993, then got put aside for a few years until it was put back on the street.
Said it then and I’ll say it again nothing looks as good as an F bike 😀

I'm not a part of this list Doc, I bought my beautiful blue CB1100F as a 50th birthday present to myself back in the late fall of 2007. This is the longest time I've had the same bike though. Going back to my first stint owning motorcycles, 1974 - 1986 I had 6 different bikes throughout that period. One of those bikes was a brand new 1980 black CB750F (avitar pic) but I only had that bike for 3 seasons. I had to sell it when I was between jobs.
Another longtime member (who I had the pleasure of meeting up with for lunch yesterday) is TigreST (Tony) from Sarnia, ON. He still has his red 11F he purchased new.
Cheers!

I still have my 82 750 F2C .I still remember the day I walked into the showroom to collect her. It was a very wet and windy Saturday morning and I really didn't
like the idea of taking it out. The dealer and I agreed I would pick it up Monday, on the journey home my old 750 F1 sohc developed a misfire due too wet coils.
I removed and dried the coils overnight , fitted them and polished the bike Sunday morning, after which I took it for a test ride. The bike was running fine, but then it started to rain. I turned for home and was about half a mile from home when I binned it on a corner, smashing it and me up into the bargain.
After talking to the dealer he knocked £100 off the part ex price(which was far less than the damaged caused) and I picked the bike up a few days
later, when I as able to ride it.
The bike now has 50 thousand miles on the clock and is far from standard, but change is good, right? |

I still have my blue (You know, the faster one) 1983 CB1100f and just to get some symmetry, I bought a 2013 CB1100 to keep it company. Sorta like a grandchild. |

Yup, still have my Red 11 that I purchased new for my birthday in '83. My previous bike was a '76 KZ900 that got wrecked when a guy pulled out of a parking lot in front of my brother. Needless to say, bikes weren't a popular item at home for a few years. I was getting the bug real bad in '82 and was looking at a new 900F in Black when the 11 came out. That clinched it, done deal. Paid $4000 CAD for it, which was about $500 off list. When the kids were young it sat for about 8-years then finally got revived in 2002 with about 6000-km on it. It now has little over 31k-km on it, many of them from the North East Rides. It's had a few mod's over the years but I still have everything to put it back to stock if I feel like it. |

Gabe, do you have any pictures of your new purchase in 1983? Better if you are in some...
Cheers!

Sorry Chris, no photos from back then. The bike seems to have aged better that I have though.
