Any chance of an ohlins group buy?

I hear stories of a groups buy a few years ago.
Also heard the prices were really good.

Still going on?
Chance of doing another?

I bought 1 set of those.

The contact that did them at Ohlins no longer is there, if I remember correctly.

Member 8andcounting was the organizer. He hasn't posted here since May 8, 2011.

Any group buy would be starting all over.

That price was unheard of, even then. I think the second and maybe 3rd buys(?) had the price go up a bit.

If I remember correctly, Ohlins was going to not have these bottom of the line shocks anymore or something like that, like maybe they were a closeout. But when they got a big response from places, I guess maybe they reconsidered, because they're still something that can be ordered? Maybe I have that all wrong too. It's been quite a while ago. An exhaustive search here should shed some light.

I was in on the buy in late 2009. And believe it or not still have the girls name at Ohlins, her email and a phone # with extension. If someone wants to take a shot, PM me and ill give you her info.They are HO140 and I paid $490 delivered to my door.

I am guessing but if you could get near $600 you'd get 10 or so to participate - including myself. Would take a month or two and be a pain in the ass the whole time Very Happy

I think Dan has a special price for the CBX Forum. Maybe you could leverage the combined Honda models to increase your buying power.

He said that a group would need to be 25 pre pair, but also said it only saves about 10%.
But another $60 off isn't something to sneeze at. Gets closer to that magic $600 mark.....
I would think 25 pre paid sets would be hard. But maybe with the cbx guys too.

Funny question....are these stock length? I know that some of the sohc 750 guys like DOHC length shocks. Thinking a few of them might be interested int he group buy too. Just trying to cast a wide net

If we can keep on post that grows as people add their names to it that would work well.
