Can any of you old timers tell me how many 1100fs were released into Australia?
i emailed Honda Australia but as they took over from Bennett Honda in 1991 there are no records !
Does anyone in the forum still own the bike they bought back in 1983 or had owned one when they were new ?
thanks everyone

Very few from what I know, not a lot of any of the "F"s really, police obviously used a few of the 750's |

That surprises me Norm? Back in the day the 900s seemed to be everywhere. You got a group of ten guys together, and there'd be at lest 3 bol d'ors. There were 2 in the house where I was staying. We'd go to the races at Calder Park, and the carpark would be full of 900's, and GSX Suzukis.
The cops bought a fleet of 900s to replace the 750s for the CHOGM conference in 1980. Mine is an ex-police bike. Used to be able to pick them up cheap at the auctions once they'd done their tour of duty.
I don't know the numbers, but the perception seemed to be they were all over the place? The 1100s of course is another story. Didn't see too many 'new' ones.
cheers

Hi Ian,
Always hard to tell but going by what bits are still kicking around it means if there was any real numbers brought into the country originally they have obviously been scrapped because there is nothing left now. Even if the Police got new ones for the CHOGOM conference in 1980 how many did they get 25/30 maybe, not a lot of bikes to go into the market afterwards and if you saw 30 police bikes together at one time you would think it was a massive number of bikes but spread out over Australia it probably put 6 bikes into each state |

I don't know the answer to your question but I just bought one last week of my wife's uncle that has been rebuilt, restored / resprayed with a big bore kit, I am still wearing it in have put about 250km on it since engine rebuild and am loving the bike already. I would be interested to know how many are still running around and finding out more about the bikes
cheers
