Hey Joe,

How are you handling the painted surface where the gas cap seats on the tank? I noticed when I did mine that I had quite a buildup of paint and clear once the tape was removed. I have as of yet to do something with it because I really don't know what to do with it. Is this making any sense???

Andy, what I have found in the past is that if you leave paint all the way to the filler / under the cap seal over time gas will cause the paint to lift. I think the constant contact with the liquid / fumes tend to soak into the paint. What I do now is take a razzor blade and remove all paint under the cap seal down to the bare metal or in this case the por15 coating. Since I started doing this I have had no more issues with lifting.

Warpspeed, I'm glad you showed me the fairing shield but it was over before I saw it. Crying or Very sad

NV900F, We have 2 dogs, the weinner and a doberman. 1 I can call Einstein and the other Meathead. I'll let you guess which one you see in the picture. Laughing

Way back on page 3 you talk about bright nickle plate with clear powder on your bolts and hardware. Did you actually plate the hardware or is the bright nickel a powder??

Plated using the copy chrome kit from Caswell. The finish looks great at first but will tarnish rather quick if not clear coated or oiled. This is a point they fail to tell you. I also use their copy cad kit and it is great!! Smile
