Well I just picked up a 82 900f last week. This is my third honda. I have an 02 honda spirit bobber, 76 Cb550 cafe and now this. The bike was about 90% original except for the green paint when I bought it. Unforunally yesterday I was taking it of the center stand, and some how shifted the weight of the bike to the right and the bike fell over hitting my pop up trailer's tongue denting the gas tank. I guess it was a good thing I can repaint it back to original color. It looks like I will learn alot from this site. |

Welcome to F'eaven.
Sorry about your luck dropping the bike but like you said, it is all for the good to get rid of that green paint that does not belong on a Honda. {Because green is bad luck on a motorcycle. Very old superstition } |

I usually will sit on the bike if I'm taking it off the center stand, that way I make sure it never falls. I had a bad experience as a teenager with a very heavy BMW of my dads that I dropped because I was off to the side. My dad is a cool guy but that was a day I saw him lose his cool if you know what I mean......
Oh and welcome.... this site is addicting |

Yeah I have this height disadvantage. so My feet dont touch the ground with the center stand. This was the second time ive used a center stand. Oh well. We learn from our mistakes |

Practice and fear will help make the center stand easier to use in both directions. |

It helps some to turn the wheel just a little oposite the direction your standing next to the bike while taking it off the stand.

Welcome, neighbor!!
I'm just over the PA/MD line in Southern York County. We have some really nice swap meets up in this area, for finding some nice F goodies.
We'll have to get together for one, bro!! |
