I have an '82 750f with a supertrap exhaust system on it. It looks to have about 10 discs in the end of it including the cap. Is this a good exhaust system? Can/should I remove the discs at the end to get more power? Does anyone have this system? Has anyone went from stock to this system and noticed a difference? Lots of questions guys.

The 1st generation supertrapps were decent pipes for the day. They have a center bolt that holds the discs in place. The 2nd generation I think are the best with the stainless steel a real gem. These have six bolts that hold the discs on. The 3rd generation are also excellent pipes and were made after Kerker and Supertrapp joined forces. The header section is the same as the Kerker K2 (no stainless available). The canisier is seperate and made out of aluminum and uses the same 6 screw discs. |

Thats good to hear! Now, will I benefit from removing any or all discs? Other than it being louder without the baffle... will it have more power? |

Add and remove discs as you please for sound and power. The competition end cap makes some good HP and not too loud. |

Yeah, thats the pipe I have. I like the end cap you have. Mine is just solid. Where can I find one of those? The reason I am looking for more power is because I barely beat my buddy(rolling start) on his 1200 sportster. I am not sure what has been done to his, but on the other hand I am not even sure if I should be able to beat him.

You don't want that Supercrappy pipe, it's just slowing you down. They turn all gold and blue and don't match the bike either. I'll take it off your hands for ya for a nice used Kerker that you can paint high-temp black and make your bike scream. I'll even pay shipping.
Seriously, you got a great pipe there. I've been happy with mine.
