OK now that the demon's have been around for awhile, what kind of mileage are you getting or expect to get based on current wear?

I do not think they wear well.
My Sport Demons only have about 3000 miles on them and the front still looks good but the back is soon to be changed, like a couple hundered more miles, thats it.
All my jack rabbit starting and heavy breaking have worn the center of the tire down.
I did do a good burnout with the tire once last winter, but that did not do near the damage that my heavy riding style has done.

About 5 to 6K for the rear if you refrain from serious throttle happiness....figuring about 11 or 12K for the front. I've learned my lessons about pushing worn tires...I change before wear bars are completely gone.

I get to learn another lesson right smack in the wallet tomorrow morning about not plugging brand new Z-rated punctured tires... Rolling Eyes

I have 7,864 miles on mine. My rear will be due shortly. I figure in the next thousand miles or so. If you keep them properly inflated and do not do anything crazy, I woukld think about 8,000 miles would be fair, at least that is what I have gotten. Martin?

Pirelli makes both V rated and H rated sport Demons. I believe the V rated are a little softer and are my tire of choice for these old bikes. Yes they do wear fast and you need to start thinking about replacing the rear at about 4K miles. A little more on the front depending on how you ride.

I usualy replace tires before they are warn out. If the profile is starting to get strange and its noticeable in transitions, I replace the tires within a short period. When your total contact patch to the road is only about 6 square inches, you want it to be a very good 6 inches.

Chaparral is a great source for tires and other stuff too. I've bought from them four times on the weekend and like clockwork the item is there on Friday.

I have a friend that works at Chapparel, they are a very good source for all kinds of goodies.

I just put some bt45s on my 9. i love'em but at my age i don't go too fast either. I did notice that they feel very stable both straight up and laid over.
