Well, I at least have one positive to report from the recent shutdowns/social distancing/etc from the COVID-19 outbreak.

I have two boys, a freshman in high school and a 5th grader. Both play every sport they can, especially the older one who plays SOOOOO much baseball. My life has been consumed by taking kids to sports, watching sports, working out for sports with the kids, etc. Throw on top all the normal parenting stuff, and my own recreational sports that I still play, and I've been left with very little time for other things.

About 1-2 years ago, I took my 1100 apart to graft on a TPS for the 3d mapping. As soon as I took it apart, I ran out of time. It's been sitting dissembled this whole time. Zero miles last year.

This weekend came, and with everything shut down, I realized I have a lot of free time again. So I fired up the garage furnace, moved the bike out of storage, grabbed the bucket of parts, and put it back together. I got it running, stuck the exhaust out the garage opening, synched the carbs, and back in business.

Then I decided to wire in the TPS, check the operation of that (it works, but I'll leave it off until I can test ride it and evaluate it), and fix some previous wiring issues I had. After that, I realized I had a shift star from Captain laying around, so I popped the clutch out, and installed that. Basically, I'm just going thru a check list of things that needed attention.

The next big project is to further clean up the wiring. I need a clean way to panel mount three relays (ignition, wide band oxygen sensors, one spare for future use), and clean up where I took out the factory metal fuse and replaced it with a conventional automotive fuse. I'll have to comb the website to see how you guys did it.

After that, a thorough cleaning and detailing. Then on to the spare motor I have on a stand.

Gotta find the positives where you can,
Brett

That's awesome news Brett. One door closed and another opened. With all the hobbyists here having extra time on their hands, I'm sure we can all find things to do.

Oh yeah, I'm finally finding time to dig into some things I've wanted to do to the bike. Seems like a lot of us are in that boat.

yes a lot of free time but i think we must keep doing stuff . I pity the ones with out hobbies or something to do .
We are shut down for 4 weeks here so make the best of it or my wife has with jobs around the house .
I put my extra relays in the tail section and works well 1 ignition and 2 for headlight plus spare . you will be impressed with TPS . keep up the contact with people as best we can and we will come out the other end . beerchug

Peter

Hi Peter, Why did you want the long spigots? What do you know that I don't? I'm curious.

Peace, Jim
