So, if you spend plenty of time searching and emailing on Craigslist you tend to find a few deals out there. Well, here's my newest additional project which is a low miles and original owner 1983 Honda CB1100F that's been sitting since 2003-04. For the most part, it's all there. I just need to do some rebuilding, replacing, and find a few misc. parts.

Misc. Parts List:

Handle Bars (OEM or other)
Rear Turn Signals
Front Turn Signals [including hardware]
Front and Rear Tires - Recommendations
Clutch Lever Assembly (broken mirror mount) Completed by tomk1960
R6 Sprag Modified Starter Clutch
OEM Front R&L Footpegs
Oil Cooler Rubber Mounts
Rear Seat Cowling
Seat Cover
Battery
S/S Carburetor Clamps
Misc. Screws below the gauge cluster.
Chain and Sprockets - Recommendations

Things to do:

Rebuild F&R Brake Master and Calipers
Rebuild Carburetors Completed by Mike Nixon
Replace Tires
Service Motor
Repair and Repaint Body
Rebuild Front Forks
Rebuild or Replace Shocks

I am sure I will find a few details that I may have missed during the first go over.

If any of you on this forum get around to reading my post and has a few suggestions/feedback or items I may need to check. Please free to contact me.

Todd - I just sent you a detailed PM with ideas and suggestions. Overall, the bulk of your list can be knocked off with the help of various forum members and myself.

Check to see if it charges, adjust the valves and cam chains. Coils are weak on these after 38 year's. The list goes on, but first things first.

If it don't run, it's a parts bike.

I don't know Grumpy. I've got a few of these old girls back on the road to recovery. Not recovered but on the way for the next guy to either concourse or ride daily. It's really a matter of how one sees a bike. a tool or a finished table. Some of my bikes are ok others no so much. What others think of them is of little consequence to me. If I like them it's good enough and the work I put in on them is therapy. I'd say go for it up to the point it stresses you TC, then put it away for a while or pass it on.

Post some more pics, I don't see the need for a lot of the items, looks like a gem to me. Do you have the headlight and cowl for the front?

I am sucker for any 1100f that is less than $1/cc and a fetish for Canadians (Fitter don't even start), my current project started like this, yours looks to be starting much better:

Image

and now looks like this (engine done, just need to rebuild a set of carbs to have Cookie on the road):

Image

And when you figure out what you need post in the For Sale/Wanted forum, preferably one post per item, I think it makes it cleaner and you can mark them SOLD when you find each item. Sort out the engine and carbs you have a fine bike there.

Sillygoose: I do have the headlight and the cowl for the front. I started looking at the bike closely and noticed the headlight was not sitting squarely in the cowling. I found a couple of the brackets bent and the handlebars pins/fasteners seem to be missing. Not both bars are a straight and square as I would like them to be. I do like the naked look of the Canadians.

Cookie? are you snacking on the side Shocked

Grumpy32: I just noticed your notes:

Update Exhaust: a few reasons, the exhaust is not pristine condition and my intent is not to go with a restoration. Going more with the idea bring some life into the girl.

Repair and Repaint Body: all body parts are accounted for. Just needs some detail work to a few of the panels and cowlings

Thanks for the support

You can't see it in the pics but I kept the original (and classic) tail cowl, the bike is now named Cookie, after the original owner:

BTW, I'm pretty sure I have a clutch perch if you have the guts of your broken one, not so sure if I have the guts though.

How do you describe that noise it makes when you push there Starter Button? A quick email to Headless who saved the day by sending me a new R6 Sprag Modified Starter Clutch.

Today is the first day this bike has run in a while. Here are a few the issues I need to troubleshoot and work one.

Tach Whines: I disconnected the cable to the tach until I can figure out what is creating the noise. Any feedback?

Oil Pressure Light:

Carbs: Need to get them adjusted after they were cleaned.

I still need to do some preventive maintenance.

Take the tach assy off and put a couple of drops of 3 in 1, or any penetrating oil in the hole that the tach and speedo go into and let it sit for a few hours and you should be good to go. Happend to me a while ago, it worked like a charm.

UPDATE: Almost Road Worthy. I am waiting for a new set of tires and resurface rotors to arrive.
