So I ponied up and bought the new NOS instrument cluster for my frame off. Can't find the original post. Had it shipped directly to J.R. Long story short, it came with scratches and the box was showing signs of obvious water damage. Not what you would expect from NOS. We never installed it. Bulldauq won't stand by the part. I won't share his real name just giving everyone here a heads up. Make sure you have recourse, as I did not. Very dissapointed and out some serious $$$.

I bought a turbo kit from him recently, it was advertised as being for a 1100F, when it showed up it was clearly for a SOHC Honda that someone did some kind of fabrication on the intake to make it fit on a DOHC bike. It was packaged like pure crap, tail pipe was sticking through the box, components were just laying in box with peanuts, the peanuts were in everything inside the turbo etc... absolutely no effort to package this stuff with any care. Long story short I initially started a claim through pay pal ( it was bought through eBay) then dropped it after talking to my dad, since it was for a SOHC he’d take it and we do some trading. Communication with this guy was a joke, it was completely like talking to a wall. I think he’s a real piece of work will never buy or recommend purchasing anything from him, and I know of at least one other member with a bad experience.

Yes I am selling the cluster. I'm sure the light scratches could be polished out but I'm not going there. It would be sold as is.

I just want to add my comments about the cluster "F" here.

Yes, the cluster was advertised as NOS and at the asking price it should have been perfect. Quickster demands the highest of quality and isn't afraid to pay for it. He'll see imperfections so, I need to bring anything to his attention. I wouldn't accept it, neither should he.
It arrived with damage and I contacted the customer immediately to send him photos and express my disgust.

Can the scratches be polished out? Probably. But that's not my place to start trying to fix something that shouldn't be there in the first place.

The customer and I agreed to rework the cluster that came with the bike (42,000 miles) as the clear lens was in better condition than the one we just received.

The seller, Charles aka "bulldauq" (with a Q) has basically called me a liar and implied that I would try to rip him off when in fact it's the other way around. He won't stand behind what he's selling.

The cluster showed no signs of road use however, it's my theory that this was a warranty "takeoff" from the time of delivery. Held in the archives for warranty return to Honda that never happened. The "bad" cluster with the scratched lens was put in the replacement box only to be found years later and the person thought they discovered something like a buried treasure.

My point is, if it's NOS, it should be perfect with no excuses. But, this guy has the customer's money and won't refund any of it.

Remember, BULLDAUQ (with a Q) - Buyer Beware!

I'd probably go to the credit card company.

I would like to see pictures of the current condition of the speedo. I’ve seen pictures of the speedo prior to shipment.

Here's a close-up of the damage. This could have happened by someone wiping it with a course shop towel. You can feel the deepest scratch with your fingernail. Hard to photograph on a shiny surface.

Photos of the box too. Just because it came in a Honda box, doesn't mean it was the first one in it. I've reused boxes many times. The cluster was poorly protected.
The way Honda packages these types of things is usually in protective/padded paper then a sealed plastic bag then secured with mold-in-place foam. The original packing styrofoam was all broken up, no plastic bag, no protective paper. The seller did nothing to prevent shipping damage.

What a shame - the damage could have been prevented by simply spending a few extra minutes properly wrapping with multiple layers of bubble wrap and then packed in the box to prevent movement during transit. I'm anal about the way I pack and ship to prevent this type of thing from happening. This guy evidently didn't give a crap after he got his money. I hope that no one else gets burned by him - hopefully this exposure in the forum will keep anyone else from buying anything from him.

Sorry your experience with Charles was not great...

My experience with him was really good. Purchased NOS 1100F body pieces from him. Was pleasantly surprised the items came in original Honda boxes and paperwork.

I would not hesitate to buy from him again. Easy for me to say because everything was just as he said it was... perfect.

When I enlarge the original picture that was posted on e-bay prior to the posting being removed, you can see the scratch. At the right angle it is worse than the atttached pic. No doubt in my mind damaged goods were shipped. I wished it looked like the NOS cluster posting above. Water under the bridge and cash lost. Time to move on for me as crickets from the seller. Attached is the original unedited e-bay picture FYI.

If anyone is interested in purchasing this cluster please PM me.
