I've got a birthday coming up, so I was thinking of putting either a Bluetooth helmet on my wish list or just a unit that attaches to the helmet. I would love a few reasonably priced recommendations that I can check out, so please send them along. I'm not looking for a $75 piece of junk that will fail in 6 months - I want something decent that does the job well and will last.
Thanks. |

Saved my life last summer, and now have replaced it with another. |

I have been happy with my set of Sena 10R intercom units. Low profile and work well. |

I been using Sena 10R for years and just got a Sena 10U for my new Schuberth helmet. Easy to stay in touch on the NE rides since my kids all them as well. |

Chico, those look to me wireless earbuds, not a helmet communication system. What forum did you see these on, High Fidelity? |

Tom didn't specify his purpose. this is just one alternative if all he wants is hearing music and answering his phone. I found the source on the Triumph Bobber forum.✌

Tom,
If you want to try speakers for turn by turn directions, music, phone - instead of a full blown communication system, I'd suggest a Uclear set -
https://www.ucleardigital.com/product-category/helmet-speakers/
I have a set installed for voice command directions when I am travelling somewhere new, for $40 they do the trick and offered a low cost way to try out helmet speakers. I've fit them successfully both my Icon and Nolan helmets.
Webbikeworld has some good, detailed info and reviews: https://www.webbikeworld.com/uclear-pulse-speaker-review/ |

A buddy lent me a Sena 30k on a recent trip to CA. I had never used one before and was astonished at the clarity, range and ease of use. FM radio and connections to phone for making and receiving calls is a huge bonus. Pretty expensive though. |

Coming from the CB Radio days and FRS radios for Bike-to-Bike Communications, I have raised the bar to the Sena 20s. We did a 300 miler out to Central, Pa with 5 of us on line this past Sunday. Very impressive!
If you are on ADVRider, check out the threads under Equipment regarding different brands. |

I’ve owned a Sena 20s since they were introduced several years ago. They perform well for phone and music but are awkward pairing with buddies using Sena units.
Commonly overlooked by new purchasers is the fact most brands will not link with other brands. So if you buy a Sena you won’t be able to linkup with your friends Cardo etc. |

I ended up going with the Bilt helmet that has the Sena 2.0 unit built in from Cycle Gear. (Thanks Rick) The Bluetooth unit seems to work well. I mainly want it for times when I don't know the route and need turn by turn GPS instructions. I tried it out and it does the job. The first phone call I made with it was very clear on both ends, and music sounds good through the speakers. For the money, you just can't go wrong. I just wish they offered these with some sort of pattern with white or silver to break up the solid black.
If you decide to order one, note that the sizing chart is all wrong. I normally wear a medium helmet and using their head measuring instructions, their chart confirmed this. When the medium helmet arrived, I could barely get it on my head and removing it was even more difficult. They paid for return shipment and send a large. That was also too small, so they took it back and sent me an XL. That one fits fine and isn't painful to put on or take off. Interestingly enough, a number of the reviews pointed out the sizing issue.
I suppose if you wanted a really sweet looking helmet with Bluetooth, you could buy one of these and send it to Nunzio for a custom paint job. I'm thinking that candy apple red with pearl white highlights would be really cool. |
