Yes I am still looking for that as well.

Wout, please do share. What we see there treated to this gloss black plasma coating being talked about may be just the ticket.

Here is the link to the company that makes them Nick

http://www.london-exhaust.com/

I bought one last week as they have just made another batch, the price for a complete system including a pair of mounting brackets was 1090 euros shipped to England

I bought it for this sad looking RC I bought earlier this year which is just about restored now, bike had been stored since 1993 (badly)

I have sent a original complete RD 1983 exhaust system to this company in 2013 and they have made this replica set for me.
When the set was ready i have fitted it on my bike and we did some modifications so now it fitts good on the bike.
There is no problem with the fairing for the RC and RD.
They have made a jig for this system so they can make more exhausts now.
You can also order only the 2 silencers and you can fitt them on a stock cb900f or cb1100f down pipe set.
When you ask the owner about this set you can also order it unpainted and pwder coat or paint it your self.
When there are problems with the communication i can help because i,m in contact with the company owner.
You can also mount this set on a cb900f or cb1100f without problems.

Hey Vince, the stator and points cover were repainted by dream machine when the did the rest of the paintwork. Subsequently a small tip over (thats a whole nother story) damaged the Wombat. Larry (rip) had a spare that needed a repaint and I found the VHT gold is very very close. That with a gloss lacquer looked good enough and one day I may revisit.

On my list of things to do now is a close to OE exhaust and I'm replacing the seat fairing. The original was broken at some time in the past and repaired a few times. I have a remanufactured piece now waiting paint. Also I have redone the seat cover about 3 times before I was happy. Turns out the CB1100R writing on the seat it not the same on both sides and I ended up getting custom stencils made. I guess these restorations never really end.

Nick,

Thanks for the info.

Where did you buy the proper seat cover? Exhaust?

Right now I like the silver and black look previous owners gave my R bike. Someday, I may restore it to original colors. Your detailed posts will help with that Smile

Since I have had it, installed the stock turn signals, horns and toolbox. Have only put 29 miles on it thus far because of leaking carbs.. My own fault, each time I removed, cleaned and installed, they were fine for a bit... however, I did not thoroughly flush the tank and install an inline filter. Seems like I always forget the basics. Soon I hope to be enjoying riding it often... they say Spring is just around the corner!

Thanks again.

Peace
Vince

I orriginally fitted a PitReplica seat cover that comes with the lettering already printed on it. The problem is trying to fit the cover properly and get the printing in the right place. Its impossible, the lettering needs to be added after the cover is fitted. So I asked PitReplica if they could supply a cover without lettering and they did at only $10 extra! Then I got ahold of an original seat to copy the lettering off and I found it was different side to side. Looks like honda used two potato stamps and did a poor job of making them the same. Anyhow I had stencils made and then used shoe paint to spray on the lettering.

For the exhaust I have a 1100F headers and a pair of Marving mufflers. Not quite right but closer. Although I do love that Schule 4 into 2 into 1.

Your bike looks nice. Is it a replica or orriginal?

Nick

Its an original R. Numbers are stamped on frame and motor. PO who imported it verified its provenance. I believe he brought two over and sold the other one to DOHCRob.

Could you post pic of seat with correct lettering, both sides?

Thanks
Vince

Just seen this post after nearly 3 years since i bought my R in a sorry state

I used a Pit replica cover on the seat of this bike and they are not bad even with the stencil not quite even, but my seat will always have the cover on so will never be seen

Here is a photo of my R after its restoration, Frame and bodywork painted, engine rebuilt and London Exhaust system fitted, it took me just 18 weeks to complete, and fired it up June 2016 for the first time in 24 years have done around 4500 miles on it, including a trip to Spa via Holland where we met with Wout (lunterenholland) and rode down to Spa to the bikers classic meeting with some of the Dutch R guys

So here is the graphic we generated from an original seat cover that clearly shows the different styles between left and right side.

Image

And here they are applied to a `blank' PitReplica seat cover. (it was easier to take the fairing off for these pics as opposed to moving the bike out of its winter location)

I have just looked at my original seat cover Nick and that is the same as the graphics in your image, strange Honda would make one side different to the other
I have also noticed on RC’s with the original paintwork the decal on the right hand side of the removable rear seat cover is at slight downward angle and the left hand side is parallel to the ground

I enjoy reading old threads on the forum. I found this thread from 11 years ago... and it was about my R bike.

Thanks, for that feed back. You have further confirmed what a couple of other guys in the R community have also found. The general guess is that as these were a very low volume (partially hand built) product Honda likely made a simple low tech tool to stamp the seat covers. The left and right side stamps must have been made differently. It also sounds like something similar may have happened on the fairing with the decal aligning tool.

After looking at different Honda 1100R pictures and ads from the past... it seems there slight differences or assemble imperfections with the bikes.

Notice the fairing alignment on the bike pictured in this Honda card.
