Can someone explain the Bol D Or thing to me? I keep seeing this description re: the 900F. Was it the earlier Euro spec bike before they shipped to the US?

Bol d'Or was a European model. There was also a Super Bol d'Or (1100).

A semi-famous endurance race, where Honda has done well. Particularly in the years around when the 900F was available.

A worldwide model except for N. America. Conversely we never knew them as Super Sports.

Damned by faint praise!

The Bol is one of the longest established international endurance races. It's been around since 1920-ish. It has moved around a fair bit in that time - originally it was a road circuit, much like Le Mans or the Mille Miglia, but these days it takes place at Le Castelet, Paul Ricard. 24 hour race with three riders on each bike. All the factory teams participate because it is one of the official fixtures of the FIM EWC series.

It's a brilliant event to attend if you ever get the chance.

Ok what about this....why did honda add the words SUPER SPORT to the 750 and 900f badges, but not the 1100f ?

They are over here, I can put this one back to stock (exhaust, carbs, shocks, and rearsets) and make it look like Dominique's bike (except that pesky Super Bol D'Or decal):

G'day Fellas.
Down here we call them Rolladoors.
The non-US "rest of the world" bikes look and feel so much better.
Cheers

Ed, I met a guy in Port Dover a few years ago that had a blue 11F he bought new at a small dealership near Cayuga. His side panels had Super Sport on them. He said his bike was one of the first batch that came to Canada. He though maybe they soon took it off because of insurance rates on bikes with "Super Sport" in their name. With the fucked up insurance system here in Ontario, I wouldn't doubt that!!
I wish I would have had my bike when I met this guy, my wife and I were there in her convertible.

Cheers!
Chris

I say the 750 and 900 said Supersport because at the time Honda was making a 750 K, a 750 Custom and then the 750 Nighthawk, as well as the 900 Custom

There was ONLY one 1100 !!!! Shocked Very Happy

And as Vince will remind you at the next ride, it is "THE LEGEND" Laughing

Racing for TT and boldor is comprise the Normandy delivery of profile Honda to Europe. Where N in hawk CB250N is represent N for Normandy. The endurance resistance race is stating reliability endurability of Honda. In US the CB750F is extending CB750K SOHC branding and avoid corrode of CBX but for Europe - new modelling to dominate with CB900F.
