I have a friend of mine I used to work with that does very nice metal work and I've been talking about having him make aluminum tanks if there is any interest. He could do a stock style tank or an "R" tank that has the mounting points for an "F" frame. I would supply a filler neck that fits a modern flush mount style cap then the buyer could buy the actual cap they want i.e. stock, billet, key, no key ect....
He has my stock tank now to take measurements from.
Price would be around $1300-$1500. |

If your guy could for that price then he would be $300-$500 USD cheaper than Beater tanks >>> https://beater-japan.com/?cat=38 |

Build one the same as an F tank and I will take one as long as it is lighter than OEM. |

Now that there are some responses I'll add some extraneous info..Don't want to WOW your thread up
Back in the day there was an aluminum tank for the F bikes that is reminiscent of the real "F" tank, but is a little off...
I think it was called something like a "gimbel" tank?
I have one that needs a little repair and I'll share some pics to maybe stimulate some interest in your project

Ok as long as there are a couple people interested I'll have him do a few. The first one will probably take a little while bc he has to make the wooden bucks and all that. Obviously I won't require payment until he has some done and we can put some eyeballs on it. I've posted about his credentials in the past. He's done many award winning Ferrari's and other cars and one of the cars he helped build was at this years SEMA show. Also, the shop where he used to work wouldn't allow any filler. The under side will be harder than the top side. If anyone else is interested post up, even if the thread is old.
I'll keep folks posted on how things go. |

How does the bottom of that tank fit? My friend was concerned about all the small details on the bottom and if they were all necessary? |

I could be interested but would like to see a finished product first. Also I am still considering CF so no solid commitment yet. |

Penciled in Greg.
I'm going to send him another tank that I was working on so he can cut it up. Hopefully that will make it easier to make the bucks and maybe a bit more accurate. |

Looks like it would be a bit boxier than the stock tank. Kind of a cool look being all polished. Who needs paint when you can just leave the whole thing with a spit shine?
You ever mount it on a bike? Kind of curious what it would look like. |

Yeah an update on this. I've been slow on my end doing anything with this. Too much other stuff to do right now. I'm going to make a cap receiver/filler neck so it will take a flush mount cap and send that to him. Once I get a couple other projects out of the way I'll start back on this. |

Thatīs awesome.
Is there any builder doing tanks with the old cb750 four style? Or is this not possible to make it fit to the cb1100f?
My brother has a frame and engine and itīs playing with the idea of building something like cafe racer style... |

I think breakers in Japan may. There is a while lot more stuff out there for the sohc 750's than these dohc bikes so if be willing to bet dinner makes one for those but they won't seal over to these. |

Just watching what Whitehouse/Samurider are able to do I'm drolling, but unfortunately there's nothing for the cb1100f (but few items for the cb900f and 750f too i guess) I love that tank! And what to say about the complete kit... Looks like a dream of bike:

Yes! I totally agree. I see new tanks all over eBay, but they are tiny 2.4 gallon tanks. |

The one he is going to do first will be stick dimentioned with a flush mount cap/filler neck. I haven't decided on what petcock size to use yet. What's the easiest one to still get out there new? |

If someone could do a RCB1000 replica tank, to fit the F frames, I'd be all over one. |
