I'm sending my 900f seat out to Sargent's soon for their atomic foam in the front and rear sections, and I'm going to have them make a new cover for me. I'm trying to decide on the upholstery material right now, and was interested to know if anyone here has any personal experience with them.

They offer smooth vinyl, Carbon FX, and a new, grippier material called GPX. I'm looking for something to keep from sliding around too much when I stop, accelerate, etc., but still allows me to move around a bit. It's difficult when you can't feel it in your hands, ya know?

Any insight or experience is appreciated!

Hey Zippy! I have no experience with sargent's materials like you're asking but I know they make a great seat and you will be happy with whatever finish you get on the surface. I'm only about 20 minutes from you. Nugget, Sillygoose, and myself are all within a half hour of you. Kinda fun to have so many F'ers around here.

Thanks! Yeah, their stuff definitely looks top notch. I'm super excited to see what it's like. For the past 3 years or so I've practically been sitting on the seat pan. And being 6'2", it cramps my legs sitting that low too.

I knew there were one or two local guys (never met any), but it's good to know who they all are now Smile You didn't used to commute through Macedon at all did you? I remember about ten years ago there was a red CBX that went by our house every morning and evening. Could it be you?

No, not me. I have a silver CBX and have only lived in the Rochester area for 7 years or so...Macedon is only an occasional pass through for me when I'm on my way to the Log Cabin Restaurant for a car show.

Oh I gotcha. I read the Red CB1100 in your signature as a CBX for some reason. I always loved hearing it go by. It's been my dream to ride one or at least see one in person someday.

But I love going to the Log Cabin as well. Currently I'm out of the country, but I'll be back in the states for a while this summer and plan on going to one or two of Log Cabin's shows. Maybe I'll see ya there sometime.

You probably will, let me know when you're back in country and want to meet up.

If you ask them they should send you a swatch of fabric for free to help with decision making. If they don't then they are dumb and I don't think that they are dumb.
