What started off as getting someone else to make the exhaust has turned into my sourcing a local fabricator to do it. Thread kinda took a loop but will be making a yoshimura race can replica with access to the service points + mounting to stock rearsets + center stand clearance. 304 Stainless steel, cone engineering components.
The pipe will be modeled to look as close to this picture as possible, with the adjustments mentioned above.

What Holds them to engine? The collars and half moons or the bolt hole flanges?

Chris,
It appears as if rear sets and / or a fabrication method will be required for the muffler attachment point.
Is that correct or will the pipe be made to allow use of "standard" mounting points?
What deposit will be required? 50% or ??.
Or will the full amount have to be paid in advance before that person can be counted as Interested?

Rather timely discussion it seems. Hindle is moving forward with 4-2-1 systems for classics and our bikes are on the list. They're not quite ready for prime time, but they will be soon (4-6 months?). Thinwall stainless, spigot mount to head, spring fixation to spigot & assembly of the rest of the pipe. 8-9 lbs weight. Beautiful workmanship. Stay tuned. $700 Canadian. |

Yoshimira pipe that requires the exhaust off to get the filter off..

My questions are
1. The oil filter removal with the pipe on.
2. Mounting with 1100F Euro Rearsets. That is a must have or deals off.
3. Not an absolute but is the baffle removable?
If its a yes to all three then I am in on board with the purchase |

So, I'll add my 2 cents ,
Hindle makes excellent stuff. I know Lang casually and have done one trade show with him and his son, and been at a few races at Daytona with him. My friend owns Street and Competition and he is a Hindle distributor.
My basic opinion, 4 into 2 into 1 is the way to go for the best scavenging. quality, light weight, fit and finish on Hindle is very good. The systems sells as a header section and the can is purchased separate. There are at least 10 different cans so you can have any volume, flow or finish you want. It is very nice stuff.
I asked for an 1100 pipe years ago, if it comes to fruition, it will be the best option for us. 1100 euro rearsets mount the same as US stuff. Fit will be no problem.
I would buy one in a minute, but this is not going to be a $300 Vance & Hines unit. You get what you pay for. At least twice as nice as Vance & Hines. Will never rust and replacement parts should be readily available.
Plus, Lang is a fast guy and I like to support racers, he does also and supports lots of riders.

Hope you are well! Would be really pleased if Hindle start doing old bike systems again, their VF1000R one was reportedly excellent. I'd be in the market for a CB1100 and a VF1000R one if they do them ...

I've got an old Hindle on my 985 and am very pleased with it. I chose a carbon Stealth Can for mine, and it makes a nice noise without being too obvious ... Would love the same thing in stainless ...

Would you be kind enough to post a picture of your Hindle so members could get an idea of how nice that system is and the advantages it brings (light weight for example).??
ToddK confirmed that Hindle makes the pipes for BrocksPerformance. Wouldn't it be NICE to have a Ti system made. See link to the system for a Suzuki:

When I got it I think it was Nickel plated, and then in 1999/2000 I had it chromed. The chrome is suffering a little bit in the inside of the collector area. Its mounted with 4 bolt on stubs that the pipes are held to by springs, and the mid pipe and muffler are also held on by springs. The can is the carbon Stealth can, the mid-pipe is slightly more upswept than standard:

I have one of the 750F pipes hogwild has posted. Fabrication and finish appear excellent. Can't comment on the fit, it's still in the shop gathering dust. It's on the list for this Winter after I get the 900 cams installed.
I can probably be talked into another one for the 1100F or possibly a Hindle. |

The Hindle pictured is of course a 30 year old design, 4 into 2 into 1 would be considerably different. I like the MotoGP werks pipe and considered it when they were on ebay, but just decided against it. I don't remember why.

Okay, a little further info seems needed. The 4-2-1 that I saw was for a SOHC 750 and was a pre-production pipe. It was admittedly tuned for performance but did give 2 additional HP on that particular bike. It was extremely light compared to a V&H canister system. I discussed the need for maintaining centerstand fitment and they will work toward that. Also, oil filter removal with pipe on is also on the list, but because the pipe can be removed without disturbing the spigots it can be plucked in about two minutes. Regarding the canisters, they have four designs for the "classic" series in 12" & 16" lengths, all stainless and variations on a megaphone. So, they are serious and we should have something by spring. Stay tuned, more to come. Perhaps I should start a new thread once I have something more of substance. |

A new thread would be great and let them know this is very exciting news....I tend to feel at times like we are the red headed step child because of our much smaller market base....but there are still a lot of F bikes out there and the vintage market is doing very well right now. The "kids" or some of them anyway are taking an interest, like Chris who started this thread. So hats off to Hindle for recognizing us.... |
