Dang....had some brake fluid drip onto the tank and decal....of course in the hot sun. I wiped it off with a shop towel but it left visible signs....any ideas how to buff this out???? |

Just try the regular ways. I use fine 3M rubbing compound for finishing, it might be too weak or not aggressive enough to get through depending on how deep it went. If it went through the clear no bets...
Always keep water handy when working with brake fluid. It dilutes it right away, and renders it harmless. I use a spray bottle and a towel whenever I'm on brakes. |

+1, but if you use any rubbing compound you'll want to use a scratch and swirl remover, I like turtle wax scratch and swirl remover, stuff works wonders for me. |

Thanks guys....I appreciate the knowledge and advice....This bike arrived from Ohio last Monday but already had 14 coats of wax on it ))) (I'm an engineer! Super anal about detail) so I'm working on it and it's improving. I'll try the turtle wax....I've already used Turtle Wax Color Magic black on the side covers and that worked real well.... |

If worse comes to worse and it won't come out you can always wet sand with 2000 grit and try to buff it out. If that doesn't work you can reshoot a couple coats of clear over the top after lightly wet sanding. It will look like new or better. Don't go through the old clear though when wet sanding. Just enough to scuff it. |
