Anyone have a Hondaline fairing on thier 1100F? Maybe painted in the factory correct colors too? Red/white or blue/white. If so I'd like to see some pics. Thanks, Ron |

I tried the search function for both bikes but nothing was found. Maybe I was looking it up wrong. Any idea on how I could find the pics? Ron |

Don't know if this helps, but I recall seeing a pic of that bike last yr.taken at one of the N.E. rides (I think it was here in Gen. Chit Chat). |

Fee did have one on his 1100. I am not aware of a picture of it here on this site. I believe that Fee has sold that 1100.
edit: now there is one. My library notes say that this is KWD's pic.

Funnily enough I just put my “F2” (for the rest of the world) / Hondaline (For the USA) fairing back on my beater bike for winter, and funnily enough my bike is also powered by an 1100 but I think that’s where my plight and your question part ways.
My bike has had the fairing painted to try and match the semi original paint job the rest of the bike wears and looks a little like this
It started out like this
I believe the answer to your question however, lies in this picture, because while it’s a 750, the tank/side covers/tail do indeed match the overall appearance of the standard 1100
Or Blue?
There are also a few other factory possibilities too – perhaps they might inspire?
This one is our very own Mark’s ...
And Chris’s take on a different paint job
Some more ...
Once you get the kit required to set up for an F2/Hondaline fairing you can easily swap from one to the other in an afternoon. The fairing, while big, is amazing at keeping you warm and dry ... and they let you ride in a much greater level of comfort in the middle of winter!

Andy, THANK YOU very much for the pictures. The red and white 1100 is the paint scheme I was looking for. It will be on my blue 1100 though. Very nice selection.
The only problem now is I need to find the lowers and hardware for mine. Thanks again, Ron |

Did anyone notice the reflection of the silver 900 in Stouts paint? Simply amazing paint. Ron |

I'm sure it involved a socket wrench.
Back to the topic... Ron, you don't have lowers either? This is starting to look like a pretty tall order. I've purchase entire bikes to get what you are looking for. I may regret offering this later, but what do you know about making a cast from an existing set of lowers? I'm planning on repainting my black fairing down the road, so I wouldn't be scared about the existing paint. |

Thanks for the offer Dan. It coulkd be done but I just dont have the time with my dad being sick. I've considered buying a complete fairing but the ones I've seen off the bikes were missing one thing or the other and as for buing another complete bike for the parts I need wouldn't be very productive. To sell the bike I took the fairing off would be a hassle. Look at what some of these guys are going through to sell the 1100's.
I've got many, many parts to replace the fairing with the proper pieces and make the bike whole again but the initial cost is prohibative. I'll find them somewhere along the line or I will find a complete fairing wit all I need. I tried to buy one in Va off ebay but the guiy yanked it 24 hours before the end. Oh well.
Thanks again for the offer though. If you find something and it's nice keep me in mind. I trust your judgement. Color is not an issue. Mistmatched is fine. Ron |

Ole Blue was a great bike. Its been sold once more since I sold it. It pays to have a friend who owns a paint shop as he did a great job! The pipe was a brand new one from a 900F. The CRs running on the stock airbox was a cool trick. Also the VF1000F rear wheel so I could run radials. I still have these wheels still moounted by the way... |

She sure is a beauty. I'm looking to do the same with my blue 1100 but 2 tone the fairing to match the rest of the bike.
Can I ask you what you used for paint, where you got the paint from and how was the color match or did you have the whole bike redone? I have a great painter available and will do a great job but he was asking about paint availability, what was used as a base and so on. But if you could just fill me in on the paint match and where it came from we can do the rest. Thank you, Ron |

Wet sand each layer with a sanding block (primer, color, clearcoat) then polish the clearcoat with polisher and foam pads. Not easy on a multiple curved panel like a Hondaline Fairing. |

They are from a 900F.
So Martin, did you get the link to the 2003 Blackbird I sent you? Wanna do a road trip this weekend to check it out? |
