For those interested, I had surgery(hernia) today and it went quite well. I am back home tonight in pain, but at home no less. My tear was apparently about a 3" x 4" and I also had two more 1 mm.

Heal quickly, Solman. I understand the healing process takes longer in Texas due to testicular size. DON'T LAUGH! TB

Just put your feet up in your La-Z-Boy and let the kids and the wife take care of you - I'm sure you've done it for them when they weren't feeling well. With the surgery now you have time over the winter to heal up and be ready for the Spring and more importantly, the 2006 Hoot.

Hope those Air Force doctors didn't leave anything in there to set of the security scanners at the airports.....but on the other hand, we could call you "Sponge Solmon" if they left any of those behind....

Spook Wink

Well, I could say something funny (like call you a tight ass) but that would be insensitve and probably just make you laugh and that would hurt.

So, I will just say, don't get in a hurry, relax and take your time...

Cool

Heal quick pal..I've had three of the lovely operations you mention. I can't even stand to write the word anymore. MAKE SURE you do absolutely nothing for no less than 6 weeks. I was 18 when i had my second surgery and the only reason i needed a third was because i was full of piss and vinegar and drugs and didn't listen when the doctor told me to do nothing for 6-8 weeks. SO it tore open and had to be repaired yet again with worse scarring and of course more pain and a longer recovery time. It's no fun we all agree, but do yourself a big favor....Do as little as possible. Even the slightest bending over and stretching can end up being very painful and not helpful to the healing process. My scar is nowe about 7 inches long and right in the middle of...well you know where it is. The girls love it. HA. Cheers to a speedy and permanent recovery, man. Chad

Yep heal quick (but take your time).

I don't how that operation is done over there in the States, but I had the same operation done here in Finland and it was an interesting experience.

It was done using just a local anesthetic (that was a new thing and I was one of the first to have it done that way), so I was awake the whole time and could hear the surgeoens speaking.

The best part was that they had not shot enough of the anesthetic stuff into me, so when the knife hit my skin, I could feel the pain and jolted up! The surgeon said "Oh no, can you feel the knife?!". I said "Yeah!". He then said to the nurse: "Well the anesthetic guy isn't here anymore, so give him some more tranquilizers and let's do it." The nurse then shot something into my vein and they carried on. Luckily most of the area on my skin was numb, it was just the outer edge (where they started with the knife) where I could feel it. I could feel it again when they sewed the cut close. Nice.

Why would they blow up my nuts for a hernia operation?

Have you ever had the displeasure of seeing a swolen nut sack of a hernia victim? Oh my holy F bike, it is a sight that will haunt my nightmares for the rest of my life. Sad
This guy in the emergency room when I had my wreck last April had nuts that were bigger than grapefruits. It was horrible. Confused

Cliff, they were huge and no man should have to go thru that. Yeah you could say he had elephant balls.
I remember being in Wilford Hall I think it was, {the hospitol at Lackland} and there was a guy there with a swelling problem in his scrotum. He was screaming bloody murder. That was not funny at all.
But it was enough to put a smile on my pain tormented face on April 19th after my run in with the fonewhale.

Tell me about it man. Every day I ponder what it would be like if they were small enough to buy normal pants again... Very Happy

Anyways, they did not blow up his beans, just the bean bag. They went in through his bean bag and blowing it up was the way to do it I guess.

Worse case scenario. I saw a guy that was squating too much weight for a human and had a "hernia" (guess that is what you would call this) that ripped out of his bottom and through his skin dumpping contents on the floor and nearly killing him. I could dig up the pitcure but that would throw this past the double yellow. Puke
