Hello gang, Im new to the SS forums, just found this place tonite. Cool site. A little background on myself, when I saw the 1st re-designed CB750F in 79 in flipped! Honda got it right I thought. Then I followed all the models through the 1100F and always wanted one. ( I have my wish list hanging on the wall above the computer, 1 down and 3 to go). Anyway I caught an ad in the local paper for a black 1982 900F w/extras, I went tonight to take a look and wound up buying it. The extras are a Hondaline fairing (CBX style installed) and a bunch of spare parts. What has to go is the sissy bar, highway pegs, fog lights!? and some other excess junk. It needs work but I'll be riding it as I restore it and Im gonna need parts for this girl to get her back to nice condition, namely a seat cover and stock exhast. I look foward to talking with all of you and will post pics after I pick it up this weekend. Thanks and take care, -Vinny

Welcome to the forum. When you get a chance, post some pic's. We'd all love to see your 900, even with the highway pegs and fog lights.

Welcome the the site. Where in NY are you? If you haven't yet, take a look in the Rides and Rallies section. There is a Fall Folliage ride happening Sept 23-25 out of Utica. We would love to have one more F'er there.

The orig seat was swapped for the lower 900 custom seat which had a sissy bar on it. I was given the stock F seat with tail piece (someone did a quickie re-cover job on it Confused ) Overall the bike dont look that nice but damn its fast! I cant wait, gonna try to get to the Motor Vehicle Dept tomorrow Smile -Vinny

Im located in downstate NY, Westchester County.

Well get the bike ready for the road and bring it up to Utica. It doesn't have to look great. Mine is a work in progress. It is a '79 that was put in a garage from '88 til last year so it needed and still needs some cleaning, polishing, and paint. Runs nice though.

Welcome to the site dude. These are fun, good looking and even somtimes tempermental bikes, but stick with it and you'll enjoy every minute of it.

And do get those before pictures, cause you'll wish you had. I know I do. In fact I am going to go to the previous owners place to see if he has any. Just got to figure out how to ask for the "before" pictures and make it sound good. Twisted Evil

Damn, I had a blast bringing the bike home, the ride was an hour and a half and I really enjoyed it. What a nice machine this is, nice smooth ride and power when you need it. By the time you see these pics, the crash bars, Custom seat, saddle bags and sissy bar all have been removed. It has 3 mirrors!!! The stock 'F' seat is back on (thank god!) and the original lines of the bike can be seen. I'm gonna take off the fairing windshield extention (riveted on??? Confused ) The left side cover has 2 of the 3 tabs broken off, thats gotta be fixed right away cause 1 wont hold the cover on. Im gonna be riding it as I work on it so things will probably happen slowly. Its in good shape overall and it might be painted over the winter with new decals. I'll post more pics of the bike now without all the clutter, it got too dark when I packed up my tools tonite. -Vinny

Wow... Such a shame to cover a bike with all that crap. If it wasent an F under there I would suggest grabbing a sawzall and gong at it.

Yeah Blaine. those are goin too! That 4''extention was mounted by drilling holes in the orig windscreen and using rivets! Surprised It looks like an original Honda add-on accessory. Im gonna try and remove it without destroying the original. The mirror will go bye-bye. Im putting together a wanted list that I'll post soon. -Vinny
