Was on my way to the body shop with my show car and saw a silver 900F parked in a driveway on Rt. 44. Just wondering if it's someone on the forum? Would be nice to find another local F to ride with.

I know someone will FLAME me for this but it's an 86 Pontiac Fiero SE. Some blond bimbo with a Yukon backed into me on the way to Pontiac Nationals at Norwalk Raceway. At least she stopped and her insurance covered it with no hassle. The car still took a second place in a modified class even though it was smashed. Very Happy

Akron is an hour away by freeway or 2 hours by backroads. That would be a good start to an all day Sunday ride.

The main thing that was wrong with Fieros was that Pontiac quit making them after they got all the bugs worked out. Unfortunatly by then their (Fieros) reputation was shot.

Thanks, I have 4 of them including an 88GT which was one of the last 2000 off the production line. It's in the middle of being restored and upgraded with a DOHC 3.4 among other things.

I was busy looking into them myself. If it were not for my strong distate of GM after a couple of bad experiences I may have one myself.

Again I agree their worst problem was stopping production. They might have had a good thing going for them besides the Vette. Very Happy
Kinda copied the Italians a bit, but still cool, and somthing you can afford to have fun with.

I won't flame and if you posted a picture I wouldn't flip either.
I like cars too. Just don't have one right now. Crying or Very sad

Heres' a pic of my SE, the one that got hit. It's the first one I bought and restored/modified. I lowered the suspension, added the side scoops, swapped the 2.8 V-6 for a pusrod 3.4, and a bunch of cosmetic things. I did all my own work including the paint....except for repairing the accident damage.

Chevy did the same thing with the Corvair back in 68, that was a cool car too.
I liked the Fiero and the way it handled, I used to drive one back in '90 for a friend that was dieing.
It had a V-6 with a 5 speed and really got around good when I asked it to.

Thanks, I made my living as a mechanic for about 7 years and hated it. It's a lot more fun as a hobby.

Yeah I am not sure I can work on other peoples vehicles much for money. I have a hard enough time jsut helping out my friends. Much more enjoyable to work on my own.

Very nice looking car!

There are some awesome roads south of Canton, I mean seriously good hilly, curvy roads. Would you still respect me if I rode my R6 ? Laughing Laughing Laughing
